Welcome to Washington Elementary! Washington is one of five elementary District-Wide option schools within the Rochester Public Schools. Designed by parents and educators back in 1996, Washington provides a caring environment that is focused on high academic standards and character development. Washington is a 2017 National Blue Ribbon recipient and K-5 Core Knowledge school with approximately 360 students.

Washington is a close knit community where all the students, staff, and families know each other. We offer multiple opportunities for students be involved throughout the school year ranging from Lego robotics, math masters to various staff led clubs. We have an active parent teacher association that supports a variety of activities and events throughout the school.

When witnessed firsthand, you’ll see several parts of the day that are exciting as well as engaging. For example, we have multiple grade level performances throughout the year where students integrate curriculum learned in the classroom and translate that into productions up on stage for students and families to experience. We have students in grades 2-5 in weekly foreign language clubs learning languages (i.e. Chinese, Russian, French, Spanish, etc.) from our outstanding and talented parent volunteers.

Please stop by Washington to see for yourself all the great experiences students are exposed to on a daily basis! If you wish to learn more about Washington District-Wide Elementary School, please contact me at your convenience.  I can be reached by email or by phone at 507.328.3800.
